Your composition is nice, the reflection in the water is a nice touch. You need to lighten the front and crop it closer to the top of the bird if you want to retain the reflection. There is a good deal of noise in the shadows, suggesting underexposure on the dark side. Either you were using a very high iso (800-1600) or the photo is way underexposed. You could run some noise reducton software (neat image, noise nija) and lighten the front side. If you were to shoot raw it would be easier to manulate. Dennis
