One of the local clubs hosted a fun fly with the primary theme being warbirds but people were flying just about everything. Fortunately the weather co operated which is rare this summer.

Jul 11, 2013 21:12 | #6 Thanks everyone & I'll try to remember to number them from now on. Another local club is hosting it's first All Scale event in a week so hopefully I'll get another batch of photos that look very realistic. The FW 190 is new for this season and so is the Hurricane. Both flew very well & I'm sure their owners will be at a few more local events showing them off. Warbirds are getting a lot of interest locally. Jul 14, 2013 08:20 | #9 Jets over Kentucky sounds like something I may need to fit into next years schedule. I think Terry Nitsch has something to do with it. We don't have any major jet events in the area & I've really got the itch to attend one. Our MAAC Zone event lost the use of the only safe field for Gas Turbines so I doubt I'll see any in action this season. There was a large glow powered F 16 at the Warbirds show which flew very well but needed a smoother runway. He made a high speed low pass that just about became a crash. Re the prop blur I have to admit that it's much easier on these than full scale but then again these are much harder to freeze in flight due to the size difference & being in much closer than you normally are at real air shows. The XFC is the event to go to if your into 3d aerobatic competition, best of planes and helis. but Ill admit after doing coverage at 3 of those events its alot of the same over and over. Scale masters was fun too, lots of those photos people thought they were looking at the real deal Canon Rebel XTi

Jul 15, 2013 21:21 | #12 Thanks Randy. One of these days I'll get you to come out & see an event live & do a meet & greet. So far I've had 2 POTN members try shooting R/C this season but both got extremely busy with life right after doing it. Hopefully they will show up at a few other local events & post here plus add their thoughts on the R/C scene. Weather permitting I'll be at the All Scale Event this weekend near Vars.
