Does anyone have any opinions on the 600/f4 non-is?
How much should i expect to pay for one in full working order (cosmetically a few scuffs), with hood & case?

Do a completed items search on eBay if you need a guide on current prices. Good lens in general. What are you going to use it for, that is the question.

Thanks, unfortunately none show up in my country (Australia) on ebay's search.
It would be used for sports & birding.

Why just search your eBay, search them all. Most people get a 500/4 instead of the 600/4 for weight issues.

bought 600 f4 about 3 months ago
3800usd
but i added a 500$ induro carbon fiber tripod and a [Used] custom brackets gimbal head with bearings in both planes for 400
the glass weighs in at 18.5lb and with cameras you are in the 20 lb+ range so you need a sturdy pod and a better than wimberly head imnsho

that said it rocks alone or with 1.4/2 tc's

i intend to use it with a 1d type body
now i have purchased a 400do and 500f4is also to add to the birding/airplane arsenal

would i buy it again, sure, i considered it a bargain and will use all of the long lenses over time

wants for Ls :D , now have 400do;500f4is,600f4 :cool: off to birding and airshows:):):)

Canon lists it at 6000 grams, which is 13.23 lbs.

a better than wimberly head imnsho

What is that supposed to mean?
