You could always join NAPP. They have training videos, tutorials, and most importantly, free shipping from Adorama and B&H, as well as discounts to lots of other vendors. I keep my membership up these days for the discounts.

just google "photoshop tutorials" and you will be rewarded with thousands of tutorials. When you start needing something more specific, like face smoothing or fake tilt shift, just google those. Everything you need is out there somewhere.

I am a member of NAPP and they have some great tutorials and have started doing some more complete courses that will take you from beginning to end. There are many reasons to belong to this organization and the learning is just one of them. They also have a Photoshop dedicated user forum where you can get some additional help should you need it.

I did join Lynda.com for some training in another field and browsed their Photoshop courses. They cover everything under the menus and in as much detail as you want. There is one course that stood out above all others and that was One on One by Deke McClelland. He is an outstanding instructor in my opinion and this course goes from the very basic of how to start the program to the complex world of 3D. He does these in such a fashion that you can pick individual courses to find your answer.

YouTube is littered with Photoshop tutorials. I've seen some very cool and good ones there but I have also seen some that gave just bad advice. That is the problem with a site where anyone can post anything so that is just a mild warning. The bonus is that they are all free, not withstanding the annoying ads that appear in the video at the beginning.

Adobe TV is another excellent source as alot of the content is coming from Adobe employees who know the program inside and out. Adobe also maintains a user forum for more help and something called Adobe exchange where you can get free presets, templates, etc. though some do charge a nominal fee for some of the more complex files.

Another one that seems to be making it good with tutorials is Tuts Plus who does things similar to NAPP in that they have individual tutorials along with multi-video courses. They cover many other programs besides Photoshop.

As has been mentioned above I would snuggle up with your favorite internet search engine and start to go through the results. There are many gifted Photoshop instructors that offer paid courses but put teasers online for free. It is possible to pick up some things from these files but one has to realize they put them there to get you to open up your wallet.

When I went digital and saw Photoshop for the first time I was a tad overwhelmed. I took an introductory course at a local community college which put things in perspective for me and then I picked the rest up via online tutorials.

Forgot about NAPP which is very good and PSDBox which is great for Manipulations a little more advanced.

B&H does these "event space" workshops and there are a lot that are Photoshop/Lightroom related. They are about 2 hours long and most are really good.

And one of my favorites is creative live. It's kind of like an online classroom. Their courses are free during the live broadcast and if you like it and want to download the videos, you can buy them later. They cover a variety of topics but have had a lot of courses on photoshop. Just check their calendar and look for some upcoming courses on photoshop. Look for course taught by Ben Willmore - he's really good.
