Any convincing 85 1.2L II vs 85 1.8 comparison pics to buy the L ?

In past I had the ultraslow focussing 85L and later I returned to 85 1.8, now I even haven't got any 85's anymore, the 135L is so perfect only a bit long.
So the 85II is faster, but still slow, is there any topic or website that clearly compares 85 1.8 vs 85 1.2L II with real life pics (portraits outside for example), no charts or studio shots.

Something convincing (or not convincing that we see the difference is minimal).
I don't mind boosting colour a bit if the 85 1.8 has more dull colours, I process RAW's anyway in LR.

So you are asking if there are any still pix available that show the difference in AF speed?

Simple. Do you want or need F1.2 ?

This sounds like a fun project for those owning the 85mm 1.2 and the 85mm 1.8!!

stick with 85 1.8 if you have to wonder.

When I read the thread title I told myself to stay away, but couldn't.

Hmm was in LCE on Thursday.
Debating fast prime like the 100F2.8 L, and the smart sales man, ( knows my weaknesses) hands me the 85f1.2 L.
- lovely kit, superbly built, and he says it is scheduled to go UP in price!!! Within 3 months

I just had to put it down and run away or I would end up owning it.
It was not blindingly fast to focus. But then its for portraits - so they don't move so quickly.

Persoanlly if it focused quickly it might become irresistible. But at F1.2 it is seriously fussy about what is in or out of focus!

Love my Sig 85 on my 5D3 - unless I just got lucky, the 2 I tested were perfect, and mine never misses a thing!

It is the perfect compromise between Canon's 2 85's - and it focuses pretty well too, I've used mine wide open for some sports with good success.

Of course the $2000 lens should be better, but for a lot of us the real question is if the difference is significant enough to justify spending the extra.

It's funny because on a car forum I frequent a similar question was asked. Except in that case you replace the 1.2 and 1.8 with a Subaru BRZ and Porsche Cayman.

The answer in both cases? Get what you know you'll enjoy and won't regret buying a week later!
