Hmmm 20D on linux - fine but instead of a menu system you edit a config file with the restart a daemon to apply your change :p

Good luck Pete - I remember Vi from a few years ago. Reminded me a lot of Edlin. :-)

Woo hoo! I passed! :D :D :D

But what an exam, easily the toughest I have seen, it actually asks you questions that require you have expereince with the product, now I see why I couldn't find brain dumps or cram sessions on it!

An example would be:
The following four answers are all correct, which is the best, or the following four answers will all assist, but which is of least value.

Lots of Linux stuff too  For a product that doesn't promote itself as using Linux, it has a aweful lot of it in the exam! (Linux is used for the service console).

I still remember going to a computer show in 1984 with my father and seeing a GUI and mouse for the first time, it was at least another 5 years before I owned a machine or regualty used a machine with a GUI.

Anyway, most of the products I use, the real men only don't use the GUI, the CLI is where the real power is :D

Too often have I seem examples of configurations that cannot be done due to limitations to the GUI...

Gosh, I'm really tempted to buy the new 120X 2gb Transcend CF card... though can't seem to find reviews for the damned thing! It's $2 cheaper than the Kingston Elite 2gb 50X... and with a handful of CF card manufacturers this could be a top rate card... but how the heck do I find out before buying:confused:

Check this page out, he hasn't tested the 120X on the 20D:

Thanks Pete! Bugger, nothing on the 20D... I guess Transcend is where Kingston was 5 years ago... Nobody would touch the Kingstons until they were proven reliable...

I googled CF reviews a while back and decided to stick with Sandisk and Kingston pro (or elite or whatever it is).

Congrats Pete.

Sorry about not replying to the PM tony, but was out at the V8s in Pukekohe.

Also met nzl-g3user, and had a good time. Thanks Mark, hopefully see you tomorrow, in the same spot.

Duncan are you back in Auckland yet and coming along?

Yep, (only just!) do you feel like car pooling? Teresa can pay for the petrol from here...

Well done Pete! yes I know what you mean about Gui limitations - two words sum it up: Cisco PIX...
