Has anyone Traded with "Khongong" on TradeMe? Although he has 100% positive feedback (800++ transactions) I would like to hear feedback from someone I know... Looking to buy a 2gb Kingston Elite CF card for $128 (inclusive of shipping)

I would have preferred the Transcend 120X but no joy in Googling/searching for other feedback....

Ok advice needed. Ok there are 2 subjects that I love to photograph. Waterfalls and woman. Waterfalls are covered, however I just had an idea for models. Beauty training acadamys. Have been in contact with 1 in Auckland and the idea is the old TFP (Time for prints). There work needs to be photographed (the model) I need experence with photographing woman before I move on to my real dream.

What are people thoughts comments and advice (besides getting wife to agree). There will be the basic things i.e all ways have others there, model realase form etc. I need to get a portfoilo and just my wife wont be enough. I would prefer older woman but hey got to start somewhere.

Oh my real dream see bodyshots.co.nz

Hey some people love photography cars and others weddings :rolleyes:

Tony, as the saying goes... if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains... or Great men dream, then put action behind the dream. It helps too that you are passionate about what you are doing, as well as willing to put the $$$ when it is needed.

I would suggest:

1) get Sandra's consent. Without this nothing gets off the ground;
2) get Sandra's input/involvement. In doing so, she also has ownership and shares in your dream;
3) get "models" who want to have their own portfolio of pictures made. Offer a discount -- you are both learning the trade. Start off by advertising in th elocal papers/Herald, as well as referrals from friends, family, colleagues;
4) get model release forms -- it will save you the headache in the future.
5) remember, baby steps... baby steps... take it one step at a time. If you focus on the numerous aspects of the venture it can and will be overwhelming.
6) try to get free advertising -- if there is such a thing... Goodwill on your part will spur this on.

Can't think of anything else at the moment. Probably a cuppa would be good to bounce ideas off...

Sandra said no young models older woman ok :)

Im going to ask my female work mates and sandra will ask hers. It would be an evening thing. I have much to learn, I have trouble getting people to pose as Im not sure what im trying to acheive ( that is seeing the final picture in your head).

The idea is to take a normal woman, mum, with job and taking her and getting her all dressed up and capturing her beauty to remind her that she is more than just a wife, mother and worker...she is also a sensual woman inside.

Sounds a little like those glamor shot people - Body Shots. They have an interesting rule though there - no males. Would be interesting to see how that stood up as far as human rights went if a guy applied for a job there :rolleyes:

I have always thought it would be possible to do a better job, as they live off soft focus, if a decent focus was used and some touch up, I am sure the result would be better.

From a womans point they have got it nailed. All woman team. I would look at husband and wife team. I think I could produce the same sort of work once I get my lightning sorted out. Sandra hates to model for me but does it anyway.

Be nice to have someone who "loved" the camera.

Thanks for that info.

Sounds like something worthwhile in applying. I was keeping an eye out for the Editorial photographer job, which I have a lot more experience in.. Sports/People/Day to day stuff.

Everything's a small challenge in photography, so far I've yet to try something that I've failed to succeed in. :)

Tony: not sure about tomorrow morning. Will know before I go to sleep. :lol:

Warren, the best jobs aren't advertised -- they go internal first then external (same with Westpac, other banks, and organisations I think) so getting the editorial photo job will be a cinch later on. The trick is getting in first. ;)

With your "batting average" I'm sure you will succeed. Small challenges prepare us for huge ones... I found that out during the last 10 months of looking for work. Bugger though when I'm either too over-qualified or don't have the experience in a particular field:confused: Oh well, something good will eventuate from this -- I know because photography was one of them!

Very true words, John. Thank you.

Tony: I've decided I need to relax, stick my camera down, (after 5000 shots in the weekend), and spend some quality time with Kirst.

Waterfalls will always be there, but need to make sure I put in the best effort for my more important half. :)
