I know what your talking about.
I enjoy stock photography (Because it earns me money) But I am more passionate about Glamour and Nude. The trouble with Stock is you have to find a niche that interests you, where you can be good at it, and where 100000 other people aren't dabbling in it.

Change of subjects:
Yesterday I went to a brilliant Nature photography display. It was an international competition "Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2006".
WOW! Fantastic photographs.
What was nice was all the photos listed camera, lens used. And settings.
Loads of very expensive gear. 300mm f2.8 400 mmF4 etc. A lot of photos where taken also with the 2x converter which surprised me.

Thus the reason to look at a 300mm F2.8 1.4 tc = 420@ F4 2.0xtc =600mm F5.6.. Only $7500 at Auckland Camera

Shame I don't heed my own wisdom

ah yes, it makes you wonder if they are indeed wise then :)

Hehe, spying new toys already eh

Maybe, as I've said before, you need to switch focus on what you want to photograph.
Don't let the models dishearten you..

Although, ultimately, only Tony can decide what Tony needs

but then again more wise worlds :)

Stupid is as stupid does, wise is as wise does. Considering me wise could mean questioning your intelligence.. but then again, it might not :p ;)

Sorry people, off topic a little bit here...;)

Wazza, hey just looked at some of your D1NZ photos, they are so sharp and u've done a great job rotating the image to get THAT angle!! They are all very nice!

Recently I've been trying out som panning shots on cars too.. but found it hard to nail the whole car, i mean from the nose to the tail are all SHARP... mine often seems just got the nose, the body or the tail... any tips on this perhaps?? ;)

Should i shoot with Tv or M?? And with all '9point focus active' mode, AIservo and Mode2 on my 70-200 2.8 should be the correct start?

Alrite, I m starting to get confused... need your help...

When everyones pointing that way, try point the other way.

What a pansy... you used a tripod!
Great image. I needed that reach & those settings a few weeks ago for the eclipse we had.
Actually they probably wouldn't have worked as the brightness of the moon was very low.

I am starting to think that photography is more about PP than the camera.
