pedantic might mean me reporting someone to the commerce commission
pedantic might mean me bursting into print to Kevin Milne
pedantic might mean me spending $30 at the complaints tribunal.
decisions, decisions... ;-)a

let me guess: it was the BBC wildlife photog. of th yr - ive been following that site for the past 5 years, collected a copy of every single photo on there cos they are so amazing. some of them are taken by TINY tots too - and are of stunning subjects like wild leopards etc. they also had some really groundbreaking web design ideas a few years ago (the old sites have not been archived however, only the pics. one of them was like an art gallery room, and one was like a movie projector slideshow seen from a side angle, really great concept)..

No I don't think it was the BBC one. I just did a quick search & tht title just sais "Wildlife photographer of the year 2006"

Interesting clouds Tony
Is your new passion going to be Astro photography?

Used my new camera wrist strap yesterday. It's exactly what I need. I normally walk around with my camera in my hand, and up till now have always had the neck strap wrapped 3x around my wist. This new wrist strap is so much more comfortable, easier to use & feels more secure.
Highly recommended.
I didn't try my POTN strap yesterday, but first impressions are that it is loads more comfortable than the standard Canon thing.

BOLLOX... that's your excuse to post giraffe-ass!!!!

Kiwi - you have a more attractive moon than Tony, but yours looks a little over processed perhaps. Or I'm just jealous and want 300mm and TC :(

What a cheat I had manual focus. 300 F4 + 1.4 TC = F5.6 and mine wasnt cropped or PPed :p

When you say manual focus, did you turn the focus ring until the red square flashed? Or completely by your judgement through the viewfinder? I wish I could do the latter, but my eyesight isn't good enough.

Didn't you read your manuals? All digital photos require USM according to canon :P

Strage I use my eyes not canons word when I edit my photos despite what the manual says :)

I loose auto focus at 1000mm. No red dot. 500mm F5.6 + 2xTC = 1000mm @F11 even a 1D wont auto focus after F8
Viewfinder all the way. Oh sorry 20/20 vision.
