I loose auto focus at 1000mm. No red dot. 500mm F5.6 = 2xTC = 1000mm @F11 even a 1D wont auto focus after F8

I have been reading up on it, about $20,000 NZD cones with 2xTC.
Do they build a tripod big enough for a lens that size?

I have no idea what you could use for a tripod as it must weigh a TON.
I think in the TV industry probably has some pretty heavy duty things for their large cameras.
Someone here mentioned you would need to build a scafolding for it.

Its a 9.9 as far as reviews goes. I would get one but its a sports lens but you need a 1D to get the most out of it.

I have "money is no object" when I want somthing. But I have to be able to justify it.
My 5D is worth every cent I paid for it. So are my "L" lens and bigma

yes that's true, I am happy to be a budget shooter. it's seems that no many people know the difference any way.

thats alot of coin for some glass! well worth it tho :P

Look at it this way you will loose more money on your camera body than you ever will on that lens. Glam maybe able to do it cheaper.
Take a look at Wazzas 120-300 F2.8 Sigma the prices went up.
You never sell good glass. Ive sold 1 "L" and thats was only to upgrade to a F2.8
