bit like sex and sleep. not saying which way round though.

There is nothing wrong with desent amount of either. In fact people who have regular sex (4+ a week) are more happy due to the endorfins that are realsed. If people spent more time making love rather than fighting there would be less divorses.

Use it or loose it I say

Slackware I always got the video drivers stuffed up.
Suse9 was the best distro I used followed by Mandrake.

Yeah, took me 50 pages, nice buy. I'll get in line shall I? But still, you gotta admit, that's quite sharp.

Nothing else comes close to the bigma in terms of been so dam versitile 50mm-500mm in 1 lens. It is able to be handheld and its affordable. I saw a photo the other day that was so sharp with a TC on it. But it needs a lot of light and it is not consistant (light)

Sigmas 120-300 F2.8 is one of the sharpest zooms around but it does not have IS nor is it weather sealed. But it will take a 2xTC very well and even a 2x+1.4 stacked and produce a sharper pic than the bigma

I still got anoyed at light fall of on a 1Dmk2N. I didnt want it at all. Sigma glass is best on 1.6 bodys "L" for full frame, sure there are exceptions.

I need corner to corner sharpness. So stay away from full frame cameras and you will never have a life of getting the perfect glass. Mind you once you have it you will understand why it cost so dam much.

Karekare far end on the rock (right hand side as you go down) photographing the pounding surf against the rocks may have a waterfall look as well.
Im going for the wet and wild look :) Low tide is at 2.30pm. If it is to "wet" with salt spray will have a rethink.
Looking at a 1-4 shoot I have to drop the family at the airport

Sounds interesting - do you want to leave your car here & carpool? I'm probably not up to a full on afternoon either but a coupla hours out would be good.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

What is the supposedly easiest Linux distro out?

Clunky interface?

Ubuntu/Debian. Yes, the interface is clunky (was using kde this time, but gnome is no diff) - mouse clicks don't appear to register, windows freeze in place, inconsistant dialogue layouts etc etc - it just feels awful to use after xp/vista/osx.

I never liked that distro either. Lindows was the same. Try Suse WAY better. Heck I even got it to hook into MS Exchange to get my e-mail
Enlightment is a great theme. I prefered KDE to gnome

Slackware and KDE for me.
DigiKam and Gimp for photo editing and tagging.
Even photomatix works under wine :)

Gnome is more configureable but isn't as polished as KDE (yet).

I find myself limited when I have to use a windows based machine.

Linux is just as I remembered it 5 years ago.

LOL you know those "im a pc / im a mac" ads? well floating around on u-tube and myspace there are really funny ones that involve linux as well... he shows up fully geeked out with a huge backpack strapped on and squeaking in a pre-adolescent cracking voice... i highly recommend searching them out and having a watch of them
