Hey its not as bad as my euraka one the otherday when I turned to my wife and said "Honey do you know why on overcast days everything is so dull...there are no shadows"

I discovered contrast

yes...no shadows... but also no glare and burnt out spots... contrast isnt always our friend

Peter - that snow/tree shot is great, definitely print it. Maybe increase the blacks and contrast a little first.

LOL, It's not where I live.
My brother in law has built a hut up on the mountain, and we where able to stay there over the easter holidays.
It was great. Out the door is the ski area. The kids would see the lift running & pop out to ski. We could watch them while we where having breakfast.

What did I do differently with my shots?

Just longer shutter speeds, more water blur, and a tripod. :p

Anyway, compare your Karekare thread to my Anawhata, you have 3 times more replies, clearly yours are way better. :p So stop comparing. :)

Has nothing to do with replys.

I used to look at your work and say "why the hang dont mine look like that" Your ideas and the way you capture a scene.
The way you do things in general, your understanding of what to set the camera at etc.

Now a lot of that will have come from experence, trial and error and a design back ground.

I need to comprehend and understand what I read, then go out and do it untill it becomes second nature. Yes "M" mode is your freind I need to use it more.

I have done say 30,000 clicks in 2 yrs with 3 cameras so I have a bit to catch up with you :)
