That's why I went bigma. Everywhere I read said the 170-500 was rubbish. Still saving my beer tokens for 70-200 2.8.

And thats why I went Canon 300mmF2.8 IS. Bigma didnt cut it for me. I have the 70-200 F2.8 and it is a great lens.

Im waiting for the Canon 16-35 MK2 to come out and more reviews to posted. problem is it is a 82mm thread :(

Biggest thing besides the IQ of the 300 is that it teaches you to compose aint no zoom to use.

Is anyone else having problems with their broadband connection this morning... I haven't been able to connect, then when I got connect I was disconnected shortly after.

Called ihug and they said telecom are having problems. (typical telecom)

My wife is on Ihug at work and their connection has been up and down like a yoyo this morning. More down than up. My home connection is on xtra, and I have had no problems accessing my mail server there, so assume that xtra is OK. (I can't believe I just said that!)

Ah, our work connection is up and down here (Xtra). No surprises there really.

Quite refreshing to do without the net at the moment, maybe I'll have to resort to talking to 'real' people. There's a thought!

I like where you're heading with these, although they may look a tad too staged?
The building you've found is wicked though

Yes, extremely staged :). I use multiple locations, each has a similer feel, though.

YES, working now though. Apparently Telecom were doing a planned upgrade. Upgrade = better, only a small inconvenience. :)

Rumour has it the the internet backbone was down early this morning for "maintenance" -- it is why the whole country didn't have access to the internet. Frankly, I think it is a lot of crock that Telecom continues to provide worse than 3rd world internet services!

Tony, am I right in thinking you owned a 30D? If so, I am interested in your (and any one else's) opinion: I am thinking of buying the 30D body to go with the 20D so my wife Joanne and I don't need to keep sharing cameras. 5D is a different beastie and we are not considering that option. Keen to hear!
Edit: Does it take the same battery as 20D?
