I had issues with international traffic and POTN. massive ping times.

I then gave up, tried to play an online game - until I realised that was even worse than websites - 3 quick disconnects, and GAME OVER.

Come on Telecom, you're poor.

Also Vodafone mobile - the number of times "network busy" or text messages coming late. Or driving around Auckland City, and keep getting dropped off. It's getting worse and worse. It's pathetic. Time to complain. Don't feel like paying my big bill

In good news...

The New Zealand dollar this morning broke a 25-year-old record high against the US dollar - fantastic news for holiday makers but bad news for exporters.

The dollar briefly traded at US74.76c, the highest level it has touched since it became a free floating currency in March 1985. It was floated at US44.44c.

The dollar was last at this level against the US dollar in 1982 when New Zealand ran a so-called crawling peg currency.

The previous post-float high of US74.65c was in March 2005.

At 12.10 it had eased slightly and was trading at US74.64c.

Here's a few shots I took in March at Mission Bay (Auckland Waterfront).

Neither of them are great from a photographic outlook, but I thought they were fun. One day I'll go back and make a good job of it....they are what they are.

Funnily enough it wasn't difficult, it was happening so often you could just about sit there clicking randomly and you get at least one of them dive bombing every ten shots or so. Cool to watch though.

I'll hit that spot again with a grunty lense one day and get some shots worthy of the moment, but these shots were more about the fun of it for me. A bit of a novelty.

We are way too critical of our work at times, sometimes just pointing and shooting is more fun.......that's what these shots are about.
