Just worked out why a lot of my landscapes are crap. I have failed to creat a foreground intrest. One that is strong and bold.
The one I just posted was on the money.

Trying to find 50 photos is proving hard work. Seem to have a few panos.

I think a good image doesn't have to have some foreground interest, but it certinly can help.

Right that's me.

Apple interview went well. Finished work for two weeks, finished packing and head to France early next week. Making the 6hr drive South tomorrow morning. So I'll see you all in two and a bit weeks. Don't do anything I wouldn't so! :p

Given rain on the forecast for Le Mans so don't be expecting any decent pictures...

Cheers, Dave.

that is absolutely correct, they do. the idea of a landscape is to evoke a sense of space, and one of the main ways to do that is using scale comparisons with forground objects versus middle ground scenery and background skies - seeing the ground (or a close object) below the camera puts the viewer of the photo right into the scene, as if they were standing on it themselves; it draws them into the landscape

use a low & wide angle viewpoint when shooting a landscape and you will acheive this every time (or get close to an object in the side of the frame, like a rock wall or cliff, or tree trunk

lol what are you trying to say?
