For the record, the best car I'v ever driven: A S4 lotus Esprit Turbo, followed by a Honda Civic SiR.
The worst car I'v ever driven: To many to name, but a VW Golf is up there with an S class Mercedes and several import Toyotas.

What the Rav 4 never made the list.. :)

the worst car i have driven was that fecking hire car i had in Auckland,, - no clutch - sh1te gear box - wipers and indicators on the wrong side of the steering column - underpowered

Best car i have owned - Escort Cossy....

I hate buying cars! What ever you decide you want, you will find that it costs at leasts $2000 more than you want to spend.

I would rather spend my money on "L" glass than a car. Mind you I could get a desent car with all the money I have spent on "L" glass:lol:

One of the best cars I ever owned was a Holden HQ, ford cortinas were crap. RX7 was great but only if you have no kids. Otherwise Mazda 323, they just keep on going

well it's official. the vw is "beyond economic repair" ( to turn this into a photo discussion again see: https://photography-on-the.net …p=3322290&postcount=24380 )
had a quick look at replacements today. has anyone anything usefull to say about either VW Golf / Audi A3 / Opel Astras? (say 1999-2002 5 door hatches given their pricerange) good/bad/indifferent?

I'm going through the same thing at the moment for my wifes car. It is a 1993 VW Golf GTD. We have done over 300,000 KM in it & it is basically dying. However I don't think that many cars could do 300K with as few problems as we have had.
Basically we have decided for a 2nd hand Golf IV. Japs don't make Diesels worth driving & diesel is nicer to drive than petrol.
Audi A3 is a very nice car, but expensive & basically the same technology as a golf.
Japs have definitley got a better name for reliability, I just find them not as nicely designed. More plastic.
Opel doesn't have a good reputation here in Germany.

My newly ordered car is a Skoda. It was supposed to be here now, but delivery is postponed till August.

I was following an RS6 the other day & thinking it had about 6x more power than what I was driving.

1080p is true hd.
You know that 720p isn't true hd format? But it's marketed as such to sell lower spec tvs, and especially the new 'freeview' digital signal, which actually only standard digital, but because it is such a step up in quality from analogue, nobody will argue it's not hd.

LCD and Plasma tvs only use progressive scan. Interlace is for CRT and projection tvs.

TH42PV60 is the exact model number, although I'm pretty sure you could get a deal from weird brands at parallel imported or on trademe. I haven't even looked.
