john irons most certainly isn't robyn's brother, he was having you on! he is MY MOTHER'S BROTHER!! my uncle john! see second photo, left to right: nanna, john, me, mum

I just sat down and worked it out... I haven't seen or heard of him since 1976/1977. That photo is very much how I remembered him.

Hmmm

As Clive said - thanks and it's taken this thread way off topic.

Wazza - I can't place the bridge but know I should know it...

Wazza, just seen July Performance Car. Great pics in there, look so much better in print than on this forum.

Cheers mate.

800 pixels never do justice, and would never print well from that resolution.
It's where a decent lens comes into play, when they're still pin point sharp at 100% view.

Still proud of it, and thankful they gave my website link as well

What did you mean by ""shooting through" on his families, a hangover from his own horrific upbringing."?
By the way, what did he die of?
How much gold did you pan then?

to 'shoot through' is to leave without a word and not come back for a long time... his childhood was not pleasant and it gave him serious issues about long term commitment. he was married a number of times.

i dont recall what he died of - maybe heart condition? google it

we got some 'colour' from the pan and flakes from the sluice but barry had some little nuggets too, he showed me once. he was possum/rabbit/pig/goat shooting for DOC and gold panning was more of a hobby.

D1NZ and other sites link directly to me, and other forums.

Get 5-10Gb bandwidth a month, and quite a few hits a day

Thanks SS :)
Ther'es another one I had, shooting straight through
