that cool, did you do anything to get the lights to star like that?

Small aperture does that :)

f22 for that, but you get the effect from about f8 onwards. I think exposure time may also have an effect. My assumption is that it's light creeping through the joins in the blades of the aperture diaphram. Probably totally wrong but it's a nice theory.

well to me it sounds like you know what your talking about :) so unless someone tells me otherwise I am going to believe you.

I keep meaning to try out night shots but I hate going out on my own. I would like to keep my camera equipment.

Evening All
Everyone behaving themselve's.

Was supposed to play squash tonight, tried to get out of it because I've got the flu but couldn't. Get to the venue (Henderson, long drive from my place due to accident on Nor-western Motorway) and found my opposition had defaulted (because he's got the flu!!!)

Anyway, had a call from Canon this morning, my 350 is ready, as per quoted ($201.00). Be interested if they return the "faulty/replaced" parts" and if they fixed the actual problem. They've had it long enough, 57 working days!!! Can't wait (not). Probably wont get over to pick it up until latter in the week.

good god canon what are you doing. it's good to see that Mark your camera is fixed and ready for you to use again. but 57 days, gee the whole world can change in less time about that.

just remember to test the camera when ya get it back, also for any lose parts :)

Yes, I"ll take a kit lens over with me and give it a bit of a work-out.
Thats 57 working days, so approx 11 1/2 weeks.

I did give them a bit of a hard time early in the piece regarding the parts they nominated as to replace which would have had no bearing on the issue that I was having with the camera.

We will see...I think the camera went back & forth to Aust. a couple of times after some of my emails

I haven't been at all concerned about it after getting the 30D but it will be nice to have it back I suppose, just not sure if I can put up with its controls now:rolleyes:

who would be intrested in a gkpe to shoot a couple of stages of the WRC NZ round.
31 august to the 2nd September 07.

Its based in Hamilton.

I'd be interested but I think it clashes with a 4wd event down in Rotorua, I haven't finalised any dates with them yet.

I was hoping to get down last year but couldn't because of various reasons, hopefully this years the year.

OK, you were all warned. So be prepared. I am just about to process quite simply the best handrail photos ever taken - or not.

Check back in another 20-30 mins.

Also check they cleaned your sensor!
When I got mine back a few weeks ago, it was FILTHY! I think they forgot to clean it after replacing the shutter mechanism & focus mechanism.
I tried to clean it & after a couple of trys there where still a few dust bunnies sticking hard. I took it in today & told them to clean it. See how long it takes.

you know your reputation is on the line here, if these photos aren't up to scratch then we might be disappointed.

I'm counting on it!

EDIT: In fact, if you think about it, it's hard to take bad handrail photos. Such a dynamic subject to work with. Apart from the fact that some of them are a little pretentious and think that you should be shooting them in better light....

Thankfully none of them gave me crap about model releases etc tonight, and only one of them called a body guard on me (the handrail outside the Vodafone building - little cow).

I am sure you will all be astounded by the magical photographic stylings of myself.

Or not.

Cliff

There is a setting to import RAW upon connection of CF card. As for CS2 not sure. What version of light room?
