Wekas Planning again. How far from nelson to ChCH and west coast in drive times.

How cold does winter get?

nelson 5 hrs to chch.. if the roads are good and clear.
west coast is a big place - but wesport is about 2.5 hrs.

cold in the winter hmm temp drops to about 8-10 on average. can get frost and wind. lots a great scenery around thou. Houses are expensive for the si. lots old people go there to retire.

summer is full of tourists and campervans everywhere...

Wendy want to come with me. Combo of nudes and landscapes. Woman would pay good money to have a A2 of me on there wall with a nice landscape backdrop
I dont know about the nudes in the snow though. Hate frozen peas

Ok serious now. Im tired of working for someone. I think I have the potential as a landscape photographer, but Auckland is to small for senery. Nelson is cheaper to live. I could go back to seasonal horticulture work. I guess I want to see if I can run my own business.

For everything there is a season. Im willing to take risks but they have to Calculated. Ive looked at house prices, jobs etc.
Summer time is normally when I make major moves.

Could be a market with the tourists. How many of here would love to throw our jobs and do what we wanted. I dont want to look back at 60 and say I wish I had. 20 good yrs left in me. I have the maturity and experence that a young person dosnt. However I also have commitments.

If I were to move anywhere in the SI it would be Nelson. The colours in autumn rival Arrowtown. The road between Motueka and Collingwood is a PITA but worth it. In fact, I'd live in Motueka and not Nelson.

Had a great drive to work at 6.30am. Followed a semitrailer at 40kph (limit is 100) as it was so icy. Got to the town boundary and noticed the lorry indicate left. The car in front suddenly started sliding sideways, looked up saw lorry sliding. I laughed. Not for long as I started drifting sideways as well. Oh well, don't touch the brakes and see where we go. Found some grip and went round sliding car in front.

Who said 4wd can't drift?

Weka, bigma (external link) link for you.
