its such a huge jump from the 30d that we can now get that pro feel from an affordable unit.

also remember that most of the people who have purchased one are jumping from 20ds or below.

and that's it. it's such a good jump that's at least for me it's crazy not to do it.

I can shot now at iso400 and not have to worry to much about noise :)

Yep, by the time I am allowed to change I it might be a 50D or 60D or a 3D or 4D...:( then again, I can only imagine how good the camera will be then... Might have all the features and stuff on the 1D III:rolleyes::p

I would say Wow them big times!:D

Or charm the pants off of them...
I'm not counting my chickens. Had 5 job offers thus far, turned 3 down, told the 4th to go away and think better of their offer (my old boss ) this is probably the best offer to daqte, so it may be out of my league...

Hey I like gadgets as much as the next guy, however if I brought an ipod it would be a waste of money. I got better things to spend my money on rather than stuff I don't need.

Ahh, the practical lad. Fair call :)

I bought my 20D in late November 2005. I have no need to upgrade as yet.. maybe if I decide I am good enough to charge for photography, then I will consider it. I would love to flick over to 1D goodness.. but for a hoobbiest, it's a tad extravagant. A Lotto might make me change my mind

here's something pictorial to add to chris's auckland post... it's the reason why we all have to drive so fast on "the motorway" ;-)a

(ps every point was completely correct - except the k'rd one. paeroa/waihi residents can also pronounce it, given that they have a very similarly named gorge nearby...)

kirst, i wanna see that drivers-by-location e-mail

Hmmm, I may end up with the oldest DSLR here since Mark has sold his 10D, got mine in October 2004, second shipment into the country, even had to go on a wait list

Yeay, Waihi (hometown). Aklers often throw in a 'p' into Karangahake assuming it must be the same as their road... :)

ohh yea if anyone is interested and I am sure there are a few around.

the 12th season of Fifth Gear started last weekend, it's got Tiff Nidel driving the Bugatti Veyron doing a few burn outs in it as well. They even show a quick tour of the factory where they are built.

Just remember I am talking about Fifth Gear, and not Top Gear.

LOL but isn't everything always all about auckland?

when i posted that image years ago on another forum, some US residents (bless their souls) asked whether buses & trucks went around the loop too, or did they have a separate straight-through road due to their large size and slower speed, and lack of seat belts!

when i asked why they thought the image was real, they claimed that nz'ers do all kinds of crazy stunts like bungee jumping and such, so they didn't give it a second thought!

Evening all

Good to hear from you Tony.

Sounds like Chris did not enjoy driving up here:lol: My sister in law moved down to ChCh about 2 years ago and she drives like a local now, must be the easy paced life!
