First time I've seen it...so sorry if you all seen it before Yeah it was on the front page of the herald. My son is in the top right hand corner of the picture in the blue shirt (honest, you can see him better in some of the other in the series that were in the herald) He thought irt was cool to be on the front page of the paper! Unfortunately I was around the corner taking photos near the hairpin - just across the track from Wazza, Kirst, Duncan, and a few others so missed the crash.

I thought that the 100mm would go well with my other 2 primes. yea I got that. It's a great lens. I can even use it on my sigma 1.4x even tho I lose focus. Mark

If you wish to see the full size image let me know and I can e-mail it to ya. Mark

weka2000 Is that a 300mm in your pocket? More info | Is yours the USM/autofocus model or the older one. Found out the Canon twin flash units fit on with no issues, dont need an adapter.

There is some chromatic abberation, but this can be fixed with DxO or PTLens tools. It is often used as a portrait lens - on film cameras. I found that when I tried it at a wedding, I found that the framing produced by the 1.6 crop took me too far back - I lost personal contact with the subject and that wrecked many shots. So I bought the EF-S 60mm Macro. It fixed the contact issue in portrait work, but is usually too close for macro work, especially small animals. Plants don't take fright. Toadstool-type fungi also are better captured with the 60mm than the 100mm, but in a light tent, the 60 is too far inside the tent for working with it. So instead of selling the 100 Macro, I am pleased that I kept both for my 20D and 30D. Clive, and Great G/D Abbie
