Thanks wazza, I'm such an idiot - I had the WB set on tungsten... And I didn't get many raw shots 'cause I haven't bought another CF card yet, 1gb isn't enough for me to any keepers if I'm shooting raw :-p

Oh, Liz says nice shots of "Tana Umaga"...

Tony: I used Manual mode, as I always do, 1/1000th, ISO 400, F5.6 with 120-300 at 420mm with teleconverter.... The shots would be heaps better without the converter, but wouldn't be as close

Tana looks bigger since he got rid of the dreads.

Love the last shot.
His team mates going "There's only six of them, he doesn't need us".

Im starting to use manual mode a bit more but as you have 80,000 more trials than me give me some time.

You want to go halves in the sigmonster

Sigmonster would be about 2 years away, once I've paid off the 1DMkIII..

However, if I did get a contract for some place, I may not need all this gear.

At the Rugby today, a few people with 400 2.8s I think they were, and all had 1DMkII.
Typical, they're all rude, and look at me funny. They just don't like competition. Yet I'm not even there for that, just taking more range of shots for my portfolio.

Took the other shots down, well actually in a subdirectory, and made that page just now.

Nice work Wazza, even Shona was impressed and she doesn't like rugby!

Man I gotta work tonight, I thought I had got away from this sort of thing, oh well I will make more tonight than someone on minimum wage makes in a week :p

Yeah, you're right, closer would be better, I was trying to capture too much of the action, I remember thinking that while I was taking the photos... I guess it's cause I used to play until I stuffed my back, and I'm used to looking where the ball is going instead of getting the actual drama of the expressions etc.

It would be nice to have a bit more reach, but then I guess that's always the case, regardless of the tele you've got. Time to start saving for the 1.4x then!

Thnaks Shona and Pete. ;)

Hey, I'm near on minimum wage, when you count my photography. :p

Tomorrow morning, have to get to Pukekohe by 9am. Darn media briefing.

They could have used one of your shots on Stuff Wazza.
