I didn't know my aperture from my elbow then, the P&S got me great results quite often. I still use it occasionally, on holiday mainly.

I trust you've moved beyond shooting in the Auto Point and Shoot modes though :)

Its quite an advanced camera if you get into it.

So long and thanks for all the flash

Now... I mostly use manual, sometimes Av. Not sure I take any better photos than I used to with the A70.

For my next wedding, when I first arrive, i'll start taking photos with a disposable camera, or my cameraphone - after pulling out the big cameras to show I have them. It might get a laugh :)

In the days before I had a DSLR I would turn up to do some work with my EOS30 and all the gear pull it out so the client new I had the "right stuff", then I would say "I think we will use digital today" and pull out the G3 :D

You can't order directly, you have to use DAC in Wellington. There's probably somewhere in Auckland too. I'm trying them for personal stuff because they're cheaper than asuka, and easier to design, given they give you layout software which is pretty dang good.

Hey everyone, david wants me to ask you all if you have any ideas why he can't log into POTN from work anymore? he can log in fine at home, and he used to be able to from work, but the last few days hes been unable to. (i think hes having withdrawal symptoms ;-)a )
any ideas for things he can check or whatever?

It is possible that the POTN site has been blocked by the IT administrator -- David must be spending too much time on the forum at work:lol:

Back to basics

- Try accessing the site from a couple of other computers at his work first to confirm that it isn't his pc
- If he goes through a proxy try clearing it's cache and try accessing it from the other side of the proxy to confirm it isn't a problem with the proxy

So far no luck... I've tried from several machines in the office, firefox and IE, I've reset the router... As far as I know, we don't go through a proxy

Tell him to try a ping and nslookup. Is he getting a error message?

I'm now here via a web-proxy (anonymouse.org)... How strange, maybe POTN banned me, rather than the other way around...
