I did it. Will be the proud owner of a 17-55 f2.8 IS when my bonus comes through next Thursday. Now to update my Sig and track down a lens hood for it.

Congratulations Scott! Looking forward to seeing your pics from the new lens.

either ICMP packets not being allowed out of his machine or not being allowed into the outgoing firewall...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Hmm most corporates block ICMP, unless they are in IT services.

Its a bit ugly, when I got home I had to rip all the tape off again and re-insert several of the pins.
I can see why people recoment Din plugs, those cheappo connectors I got just arn't up to it.
Fortunatly you did a bloody good job of soldering it so with a little gentle persuasion its all gone together again :)
I then filled the backs of the plugs with gasket sealant, now I just have to wait 2 weeks for it to set properly. At the moment its only set as a skin, I can use the cable, just have to becareful :)

Cardboard, plus tracing paper, plus "art" card, a little tape and some cheap tiles =

With light inside

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v31/Moppie/lighttent.jpg

With light out side

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v31/Moppie/lighttent2.jpg

Its basicaly some cardboard I had laying around, with some A3 tracing paper taped over giant window cut in each side and the top.
There are 3 flaps that fold over each other at the back, and bits of 10mm doweling running along the bottom edge to get it straight.
Its all held together with lots of parcel tape.
I have 3 flaps at the front to shoot trough, or, for the shots of the cameras I can just climb inside it.

Its about 100mm long, and about 600mm wide, and 600mm high.
I have some A3 "art" card for back grounds, some cheap tiles from bunnings to sit things on.

Total cost was about $15 or so.

The flash can be fired inside the tent, with the wide angle panel over it, or from out side, all thanks to a 1M extension lead Pete helped me make yesterday.

Hey Wazza

Sorry this took so long - and for the bad shots lol but I thought quick was best ;)

Also, the prizes in the mighty river comp would buy a nice L lens, and even the runner up prize would get you a nice portion of one :)
