I'll go with the above about Vista. Nothing greater than XP at the moment. I have the RC from MS but uninstalled them. I wanted to run Vista 64 but there isn't a 64bit raw viewer.

Ohh well I just decided to reimage the machine. that's the quickest way around the problem. Mark

Yeah I was digging for 'Dr Evil' though The lens I use the most is my 28-105 f/3.5-4.5. Its short comings for me have been the wide end (I often have to use my EFS 'kit' to cover), sharpness wideopen and hand holdablity in low light. Peter Lowden.

I bought one of those hard, plastic lens hoods for my Nifty since the rubber ones were not providing enough protection. I picked this one up in the used hood pile for $3.00 at AC (Asahi Opt Co. Japan 52mm) On the other side of the hood, it says "Standard lens 1:1.2 -1.4 50mm 1:1.8 55mm. This fits well. John

Its short comings for me have been the wide end (I often have to use my EFS 'kit' to cover), sharpness wideopen and hand holdablity in low light. From this I have decided that the 24-105L f/4 IS is the best bet, wider at 24mm (still may need the kit lens though, but hopefully less often - will move to a 10-22 at some point to cover the gap ), sharper, slightly brighter at the long end and IS to help with hand holdablity. Only downside is it is quite a bit heavier!Pete, you can borrow the 17-40 if you want to have a go. I found that I was shooting in the 17-18mm range of the 10-20/22 so I opted for this range instead. I find I am mainly shooting people so work between the 28-105 and the 70-200, it is when I am doing landscapes that I find I am needing something wider which is not often, in fact mainly on GKPEs! Might take you up on that offer though! Peter Lowden.
