Oh well lets face it we cant have all the gifts can we

Wives or wives friends usually make good directors, IMHO you should be concerned with making the image, not bossing people around. Every pro studio I have been in has a dedicated person to direct whilst the photographer concentrates on the photography, some places have whole teams.

Enlist the wife, make sure she is there when your clients see the results and are happy with them, make sure she knows she played a crucial part, and I am sure her enthusiasm will go right up :D She may even start telling people you do portrait work. Shona is my biggest marketer, most of my work has come through her channels.

And think aussie is an extra hour out, I was on the phone to Sydney a couple of weeks ago, they still hadn't flicked over for daylight savings. Don't know how far behind WA is but it is 20:41 here.

My wife is the model. Im still working on that whole issue  At this stage all I get from her is "show me the money"
I have found some Auckland models who will do TFP but they are to young and need a desent feed.

I've been asked to shoot a friends wedding next year, it scares me just thinking about it but I think it would be a good experience.

Ummm...

They asked me how many other people have been buying the Karting shots and couldn't believe it when I said "none".
They reckon the only reason is that none of the parents/drivers know about them.
They're going to put them up on display in the clubrooms before they get sent off to OZ to the Grandparents.

I'm not too happy with the quality of the May ones but they were with the 300D + Sigma 70-300 and was only the 2nd time I'd been out there.
It's nice to see how much I've improved since then, not so much in composition but definatly in quality.

I'm only making about $20 but I think there will be more requests from this little start.
Anyway it'll pay for my photostorage site for almost 2 months :D

Hmmm.
Almost tempted to get a 6x4 printed of every photo, take them to the next meeting and put a $2 per pic honesty box next to them :D

Hi All

Nice work Fran :)

Wonder if I should venture out to the local kart track here - not with a view to sell, but I guess it is a good place to keep working on technique?
