Any other ideas? might be shot in the dark, but make sure the 1 & only target hard drive is set to be an IDE master (& use lowest IDE number channel for it), then put the DVD drive on the other seperate IDE channel - also can be an IDE master. If this gets the install off the ground then put the other drives back in ensuring they're both IDE slaves. some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

I've seen machines that run "sortof" with two slave drives on the same IDE cable, you gotta have one master & one slave... Yeah - tried this. Even went as far as getting a USB cdrom drive and trying to install off that. Matt
