Big Congrats!!!!!

It looks really nice, how big?

Thanks! 4 bedroom (or 3 + office), 160 square meter house, 486 square meter section (not huge).

I bought a house today, in Johnsonville

Well done Tim, Need to purchase car now or hit the train, I lived in Newlands for a year or so and only worked in Lower Hutt but getting up & down that hill was a pain in the rear

Yeah i'll get a car soon enough.

Nice - you'll be converting that big garage to a studio? or does this mean you'll be paying road user charges like the rest of us... I guess the train's within staggering distance.

Nah, don't need a studio.

tip 1) don't take Tony with you to Ak camera when you're "looking for a tripod" ;)

what's your budget? what's your heaviest load likely to be?

Hey you could have been shopping for glass :p

Argggghhhh....I am sooooooo unfit. Just got the bike off the wall for the first time since we moved in here over a year ago. Pumped up the tires, found the lights and helmet, and went for a little ride. I hate hills, but I have another 10-15kgs and some colesterol to get rid of.

Hey was wondering if you guys could give be some tips on buying a tripod. What's good, what's bad, what to look out for, what's too expensive, brands names, etc.

Thanks

I would recomend Auckland camera, and Apix as the two places to look at.
AC has lots of Manfrotto stuff, its expensive but good, but also very conventional.

Apix has all the Manfrotto stuff, plus some more unique stuff, like my Uni Loc.
They also sell a lot of chinesse stuff, its often as strong as the Manfrotto, but half the price and dosn't look as pretty.

So long and thanks for all the flash
