Hi guys/gals, quick question. I have both of these lenses but would like to get rid of one of them. Need some extra cash to fund something else. I find the range to be redundant and my camera bag is getting cramped carrying both of them around.

Now my question is: the 2.8 is 2 stops better for low light, but I have also read that the IS on the f4 can allow you to shoot at about 1/20-1/30 sec. and will help reduce camera shake. For indoor shots with a 5d mark iii, which one would you keep in your bag?

Personally I like the extra reach that the f4 offers.

I have 2 other "fast" lenses, 50 1.4 and 70-200 2.8 IS.

thanx!

:)You have both; You decide. Seems pretty simple. Oh and the 2.8 has a 1 stop advantage, not 2. Me, I would go with the 24-105 for the range.

6D, 5D, 7Dii, Eos R and too many lenses, flashes and aux. gear to list!

I just stepped up to a 6D and 24-105. After only 24 hours I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with both it and the 24-70 2.8.

Like the range of one and the thin DOF of 2.8

Hope this helps. :D

actually it's one stop faster. I dislike them almost equally but it sounds like the 24-105L would be a better choice for you.

Thanx!!! That will be Max, the new addition to my family!

Thanx for the insight, I definately think i will be dropping the 24-70 in favour for the 24-105. The range is what I am after as a "walk around" lens. But sometimes its nice to get feedback! :)
