2013 Southern 100 Road Races

This years Southern 100 Road Races took place this week and i was fortunate to be able to get to the event.
Sadly the loss of 3 riders left a very sombre mood around the island and for me personally I lost a very good friend.

Lovely set Martyn.
It was a weird atmosphere when racing resumed on Thursday afternoon. Not sure anyone could believe how tragedy could strike yet again in the sidecar race.

Great photos Martyn. It truly is a cruel sport, with a very fine line between winning and paying the ultimate price. How these guys can go out there and race hours after a fatality is beyond comprehension. Mentally tough.

Very sorry to here the loss of your friend and other riders they certainly are a special breed of person.

Sad to hear, it's a shock nowadays when we lose a racer - in a weird way it's a tribute to how much safer the sport has become. Still it's small consolation when it happens.
