Hi

Does anyone know of any issues using the above combo with 580EX IIs?

I'm inclined towards the older flash ( have Radio Poppers for them ) rather than the more expensive and not entirely backward compatibl ( I have a mk 2 as well ) 600 EX RTs.

I just want to stick an STE2 onto my 5D mk3 and use the RPs to trigger 580 EX IIs but I recall hearing there might be issues.

Thanks for your help

I've used the ST-E2 on my 5D3 to trigger my 580EXIIs optically (in a small room) but haven't yet tried the RPs on the ST-E2 and flashes with the 5D3 to trigger via radio.

Thanks DDL. If the STE2 works then the RPs should work too I'd imagine?

In the end I bought the 600 EX RTs. I figured why not when they did such clever stuff with the Mk3. I will just grin and bear the slower sync if fired wirelessly on my mk2. TBH I don't anticipate using it much with the flash anyway :)

I sold my STE2 and got a set of YN622Cs. That's the way to go IMO.
