Was trying to use strobes with EOS-M and I am getting banding at ss above 1/250. I thought these little mirror less might have electronic shutters allowing me shooting t much higher ss. Guess not.

The original 1D and a few Nikon DSLRs have mechanical shutter curtains. Yet, they employ electronic shutters for making exposures. So, a shutter sound doesn't necessarily mean a camera doesn't use an electronic shutter. ;)

Maybe me ears used to 1dmk2 shutter. Like driving a V8 and then getting a regular 4 cyclinder car and thinking it must be running on a battery.

Maybe it's like a hybrid Prius?

I would have loved to have a leaf shutter in the EOS M. But at $299, I'm not complaining for what I got: A (relatively) cheap compact camera with an APS-C sensor that I can use with my existing EF lenses.

x-sync is 1/200 on the EOS M. On that note, does anyone know how it plays with the 600EX-RTs off camera? i.e. Canon's limitation of 1 stop less sync speed in RT mode, no groups, etc?
