It's about time these dinosaurs were replaced.

I hope this means that Canon isn't giving up entirely on the studio/landscape/architectural stills photographers. After all, tilt-shifts are pretty much useless for video, sports or short-cycle news journalism.

Now, where's my high-MP, high-DR body with no banding in the shadows?

And where are the Zeiss tilt-shifts? This sort of niche lens is something Zeiss is perfectly suited to doing (since all their lenses are manual focus niche products anyway, and their build quality and optics are rock-solid), and would finally free me from reliance on Canon bodies.

They already make a 28mm.

But they're based on MF lenses. Having seen their image quality next to Canon and Zeiss primes, I'm not that impressed...

Interesting. If the new range includes a macro, I may have to upgrade!

Thats okay I am not all that impressed with Zeiss or Canon either. In fact the Mamiya 80 F2.8 that I can buy all day for $400 is as good or better than the Zeiss 80mm. So thats a good thing I will keep the $600 difference.

I have been debating between a Contax 645 AF and Mamiya 645 AFD II for a long while. I think I am going with the Mamiya mainly because of lens cost differences and its better AF system....its a tad cheaper as well.

Finally! There's hope for Canon tilt-shift users who have, until now, been stuck with inferior Canon sensors...
