Interesting 7D prices seem to have gone up?

Seems like the 7d for a while has been running new for around $1250, now they are $1499. I would have thought they would have gone down more with the release of the 70d and the ongoing rumor of its follow on.

I bought mine brand new for $1089 CAD. Mine was on sale obviously - but maybe it was just on sale where you are too and is now back to list price? Im surprised its gone back to the original list price though. At least where I live, only Futureshop sells it a list price when its not on sale. The actual camera stores in my area sell it usually reg' for around 1200.

7D is not in the same user market as the 70D, now if they bring out a 7D MRK II you may see the price reduced. But I agree with Christina, you must have seen a sale price.

Not sure about the regular prices, but the Refurb 7D at adorama has gone up. I just bought one a couple weeks ago, and it was $959. Currently it is $999.

I know the market fluctuates. I should just stop looking since I have mine already.

Rebates/price reductions by Canon have expired.

I just got one, brand new w/warranty, for $200 off at my local store. The impression I got was that if a regular customer came in and asked for the discount they would get it. Just one more reason for me to shop locally.

I saw the best price of the 7D around May at BHPhoto for $1249 new w/USA warranty. Just wait awhile or buy a used for less than $800 and usually less than 15,000 clicks.

The 6D is very reasonable if you get the camera, 24-105 lens and printer/paper $1999 rebate cost. About $1300 camera body if you breakdown individual kit cost after receiving the rebate.

You must've bought yours almost the same time as me

Interestingly, I just went back to the store that I bought mine. The price of the body now (1399.95) is more expensive than when I bought mine with a BG E7 grip. I have to look at my receipt but if I remember correctly both the 7D body + BG E7 grip cost me $1364.90 including tax.

Makes me feel really good

Wait till later in the year and the prices will fluctuate towards the lower end again.

I got my husband one a couple of months ago as he kept using mine, cost me $890 through a good online seller in Sydney....its now back up to $998. They are selling the 70D for 1399

Thats great for luxury purchases, but in my case it was an insurance replacement, so I had to buy now (or risk wasting the settlement on bills or something, and still being without a camera).

Buy refurb. for the best price vs quality. My refurb 40d had 125 clicks on it, and my refurb 7d had only 43 clicks. Thats just enough for them to run it across the bench, test it, re-box it and sell it cheaper. I could not afford a 7d new.
