Had to get up at 4am to start a pork butt on the smoker and noticed this guy on the side of the house. I think it's a spotted orbweaver. Let me know if I'm wrong. C&C is always appreciated.

I prefer the composition on #1, the highlights look on the limit, might wanna try tone then down a bit.
The background is a bit dull but you probably couldn't shot it from elsewhere.

DOF is enough (a bit more to show the front legs wouldn't hurt) and the detail is great :)

If he's still there you can try using some color cardboard or paper to make the background more appealing.
