who still uses a digital rebel?

yes, i still have mine...and will without any hesitation bring it out where I need good pics, but don't need a fancy body.

i'll shoot in raw and charge my batteries....with that in mind, who else here still uses their drebel?

the lense that i'll always use w/that is the tamron 28-75 f2.8 as it's a great lense!

I do.. I have a T3i/600D, understand its limitations but can live with them. The moment it limits me in what I want to do I'll be looking for a replacement.

I just gave my 450D + 18-55 to my father. At the consumer lever it lacks speed & resolution which I have replaced with a 50D, 5DII & better glass. It was my first DSLR and provided many great memories during its time

I have a 350D that is occasionally used by my friend if she wants it. While I may use it if my 5D goes, the limitations of the camera make it a stop gap measure until I get another body. It was a great starting camera, at least.

I just had my XT out on a tripod when we were out doing fireworks for the 4th. I was carrying my 6D around for hand held shots. Still an awesome little camera.

I think the OP is talking about the original Digital Rebel (300D)

I'd still be using the Rebel series if the 6D weren't released. I consider myself somewhat experienced and have invested well over $1k in glass. For my purposes, there's simply no way to justify the price of the 7D, and even the xxD series is highly questionable. It's the exact same sensor, and AF doesn't really matter to me, beyond having a functioning center point available if needed. A lot of the other extra bells and whistles strike me more as marketing than anything particularly useful to the pursuit of making good images. With exceptions for certain niche cases, of course.

No one should feel like they "need" to upgrade beyond the Rebel series if they aren't doing a lot of action work that relies heavily on AF. I know of a full-time pro who also used Rebels exclusively for quite a few years until the 6D dropped. (I guess some might consider the 6D to be the "Rebel of FF" -- a good thing, in my eyes!).

Two original Rebels (300D) are still in service in my family.

Still use my 350D from time to time, usually when the 7D is on video duty, still a great little camera.

My main camera is a 7d, but I still frequently use my old XT.

I still have a gripped 300D in my drawer, that i got with an 18-55 kit lens, a 75-300 lens, carrying bag, charger, and a couple small CF card for 100 bucks at a garage sale. I used it for a while, but just recently upgraded to a 60D for the video option. Now it is in storage just in case.

I do. It's my all around camera.

I just bought a 700D for my walk around cam. 5D and 7D are too heavy for travel.

I do as well. The camera does not limit me...yet.
