Waterproof covers?

So I was out shooting the other day, doing some long exposures. So cameras on tripods and the likes, gear everywhere, perfectly hot, sunny day, and of course. It absolutely chucked it down with rain! I'm just wondering if there are any sort of generic waterproof or even water resistant covers than you can put over a variety of cameras and lenses? Or to be more specific; 650D + 10-22, 6D + 25-105L.

Any recommendations are appreciated :)

Small garbage bags work well and certainly won't break the budget. They are also easy to stuff into an unused corner of a camera bag.

Yeah, I was thinking of this option as a quick solution, maybe have a play about later with that idea actually. I think I'd just rather have something a bit more robust for the long run that I know will be in my pack everywhere I go.

I have a water proof pack, I mean something like a sleeve to put on the camera while I'm shooting. Thanks for the input though :)

Those (the Op-Tech) rain covers are ok, but are basically disposable. For a few pounds more, look into the Storm Jacket (external link)s. More durable then the Op-Techs (I have both). If you really want to go nuts, go for the Canon reviewed in this thread.

I *think* those are the three options most will recommend. Choice is yours.

Digital - 50D, 20D IR Conv, 9 Lenses from 8mm to 300mm
Analog - Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD, Canon A-1, Nikon F4S, YashicaMat 124G, Rollei 35S, QL17 GIII, Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex 1st Version, and and entire room full of lenses and other stuff

Ah, they look better actually, I'll have a look into those too when I get back from work.

I also carry the above in my bag along with a few of these:

http://www.amazon.com …eywords=optech+rainsleeve (external link)

They are quick and easy to put on (cheap too) which helps a lot here where I live since it rains all the time. They also make an 18 inch version of both items above. I also like that they are made of clear plastic.

I have a storm jacket that I have used for quite a number of years. Highly recommended.

I carry the Op/Tech sleeves with me. I very rarely get caught in the rain so I have never needed anything more. However if I found it happening more frequently I would have gone with the Storm Sleeves for sure.
