In Flight meal - Swallowtail Kites

Swallowtail Kites eating while on the wing. At one point we had 17 Kites flying overhead, plucking grasshoppers out of the trees. Our total count for day was 25

Beautiful! Great shots of some neat action, and gorgrous birds. What part of Florida did you see these at, I'd love to get some shots this winter.

Great photos. Looks like there could be accidents will all the concentration on the food.

Not so numerous in winter as many migrate south. These pics were shot in Hernando County area. This was mix of adult and juvi birds. Would check on ebird for areas you will be during winter for best location. Better chance may be along the west coast
