Well the trip to Glencoe didnt go wuite as planned. Firstly i (and my partner) got ill a couple of days before the off and were still feeling it during. As such walking long distances was a off the cards, and i muct confess to feeling a little guilty hanging around for ages taking photos in the cold, damp weather. Also, the weather sucked. But other than that it was a breathtaking place, and though the photos this time arent what im hoping for i have plenty of ideas for the next trip.
Normally i wouldnt post shots like this but after all the help i recieved planning the trip i figure id be rude not to. Ive only really touched the panoramas at the minute but ill get on and post the rest shortly.
As always, comments good and bad welcome.

One more too, taken near the end of Glen Nevis in rapidly fading light.

Added a second. Hope to hear some opinions. Not too happy with them myself but i think they show some of the beauty of a cloudy scotland.

no1 with creise on the left and buachaille etive mor on the right looks nice mean and moody here just exactlly as glencoe should be the water in the coupall is well up i guess that came from all the melting snow the loch leven shot is nice as well,
I especially like the last two they refleft the real scotland weather and all, theres be more than a few platisc processed shots from scotland on here recently im glad you've chosen NOT to follow that route and processed them as you see them

These are all worthy shots, Adrian, each with its merits! I like them. :-)

Thankyou John. The water was quite high in the rivers at the time, guess its all the warm weather. Im glad you like the loch leven one though, obviously heavily processed, but gives a moody feeling.
And as for the second two i couldnt agree more, im a firm believer that photography is about capturing a moment and not creating one after (though doesnt that sound hypocritical after my loch leven shinanigans!!??). I think scotland has alot of charm on these overcast winters days, makes you realise why this was such a forboding place for so much of its history.

I appreciate the comments. As i said im not entirely happy with the results i have this time, but under the circumstances some of the shots are starting to grow on me.

I like the stream shot, I think I would have like to have seen the some full trees in the background (so you have the large rock as foreground interest and the row of tress in the background). Also may crop out the rock on the right. Good technique on the exposure though especially considering the fading light.

Great picture of the stream. Tried to take some like that recently. Bad camera shake caused them to be out of focus.I'll remember the tripod nextime!
The others are nice too. Going to try to get up that way in a couple of months, time & work allowing. Hope to get some pictures as good as this.

Adrian, try some contrast masking on the Loch Leven image to bring out some of the shadow areas and alter your levels then boost the saturation a tad for the reds and yellows and I'm sure you will see a huge difference

Very interesting ideas. Unfortunatly taking this shot was a little more trivky than i anticipated. The fall itself is huge, stretching down all i could see of the mountain side, and there were few places to get close (that i could find in the time). Tthe shot here is actually 3 stiched together as i couldnt get wide enough for the whole thing. To include what you suggest would probably have meant another three shots. Maybe next time though!?

Hi David. I had a crack at what you suggested. Its a very quick attempt and i would be interested to see your take on it too. I agree though that this is a better look.

I guess PT assembler really does work well if you didnt notice. Dont get me wrong, i still think your comment are completely correct. I just felt guilty leaving my girlfriend in the car alone long enough to do it!

I came third???

Cool

Ok, that was just supposed to be three question marks, not a sad face. I really am very pleased and flattered.
