Well, at approximately 4:15 this afternoon, the bluebird babies I've been monitoring in my yard fledged. I had literally just finished processing my morning photos of them when I stepped out onto my deck and saw two of them leave the nest box and fly up to the poplars behind my house. I really wanted to see them fledge so I'm pleased. You'd almost think they waited till I was watching  ...And here are the last of the bluebird shots, (unless they stick around the yard). Yikes, now I'm actually going to have to work for my bird shots again!

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

Beautiful! and Great timing. It's early enough in the summer. Maybe you'll get a second set of blue bird babies.

Possibly. I watched the male poking his head into the empty nest box this morning. He seemed a bit confused as to what exactly was going on (typical guy:) )...

I can see why some folks are such avid "bluebirders", they are a real pleasure to have around.
