(actually Superstition Mountains in Mesa, AZ)
After a day of failed storm chasing, Jay Beckman and I had given up and were driving away. The sun then popped through the clouds and generated this!
6 image stitch with 1Dx and 70-200 mk2 at ISO640
I bumped the contrast and repaired some stitching errors but the color is real!

Beautiful shot. It has everything: soft red light, a rainbow, scale, and leading lines. Jealousy!

Keep up the good work.

John

Yip,

Your title says it all.... ok, not all since I'm going to type a few more words. I love the colors you see out West. I grew up out there but now live in Florida. We get amazing sunrises and sets here but nothing to frame them like the mountains, etc. out West.

I have come back a few times now to view your photograph. That is a high compliment from me.

I forgot to mention we had chased storms for close to 400 miles without a single lightning strike captured! The carrot was being dangled in front of us the whole day! It's only when we gave up we got the reward! :)

Beautiful pinks and blues. I could see this as a wall-print to tie a whole room together. I can feel how magical this experience must have been.

Wow! The storm chasing really paid off, not without a lot of effort on your part. I spent a lot of time in the Superstitions years ago and really miss AZ.
