So I purchased a 700RC2 which was a disaster experience, the actual head was made for what a Camcorder it seems, it was a drag getting my t4i on and off, so quickly sent that back. I use to look at prices of heads and tripods and think who'd pay for that, now i realize. I mainly due video and if I ever do photography its normally on the go.

A monopod seems ideal because its lightweight and easy to move around, but I also record myself a lot from time to time and a monopod probablly wouldn't do the job.

Here is the combination I was going to get, Manfrotto MVH500a with Monopod (external link)

Or MVH500a with tripod (external link)

I jsut want something that I can pan and use for video and photo, I also want to use the head on my slider if possible, any alternatives?
