I've been wanting to upgrade all of my lens caps to the new Canon center-pinch style caps, so I've been keeping an eye on the prices for the last couple of months. I thought $14.95 was a little pricey for the 77mm version, so I've been hoping the price to come down.

I noticed the other day that Amazon had the E-77 II for $12.87, so I contacted our very-own and awesome Adorama Customer Service Rep, Helen Oster, and she notified her Purchasing Manager who promptly lowered Adorama's price. Customer service at its finest! And I ordered 10 new lens caps.

The deal can be found by clicking here (external link).

Good time to stock up if you're looking to make the switch!

Bryan

I bought my 82mm cap on eBay for like $14. Could not find them anywhere in stock in that size for months now. I much prefer the new style caps, its worth the 10-15 for them.

If you have to drop price on lens caps, you know that they have been grossly over priced in the first place. :D

I am sure the cap costs them $1 or less to make. Easy. Plastic injection molding is quite cheap!

However, the Canon ones function/stay on better than third party caps I have used.

Same here... on backorder for weeks at the "big three" so I found one on eBay for $14. Compared it to the 77mm I got at B&H and they are identical in ever way except size. They're great... they really stay on much better than the cheap ones I bought at Amazon...

Indeed. I find the cheapo eBay version is easily jammed up inside the lens when resting on the cap inside a bag. The OEM caps don't do that.

I always feel so bad for my fellow friends up north. Canon's pricing up there has always been horrendous!

it was easy to justify the $2000 for the lens, but I had to wait for a $2 price drop on cap before pulling the trigger :0
