How many photos do you give to publications?

I was recently asked to give some photos to a publication, about 5 at 1000px longside

One does not GIVE photos to publications...one gets paid by said publication for the photos...

If you give them away, all you are ever going to get paid is "nothing" and you are undercutting the photographers who are trying to get paid for thier work...
