I took a series of shots at a nearby marsh (this is the second of two I like that I've posted). The slanting tree really drew my attention- I like the dynamic it gives the shot being on a diagonal. I think the composition is good with the ice patches leading the eye into the shot. Post processing included a levels adjustment, boosting contrast, and selective burning of ice patches and sky. Let me know what you think, including composition and if I was succesful making the slanting tree the main subject. I'm happy with this shot, but let me know what you think...
exif: 1/13, f29, ISO100, 32mm, tripod mounted, remote shutter release.

Unfortunately, both your shots suffer from an overcast day. Unless there's new snow that's still in the trees, I won't go out on a cloudy day. You need to have a sunny, blue sky day. The pictures will look drab and noisey on cloudy days without adequate light. I have recently learned that lighting will make or break a shot.

Like this one from the 15th.

I agree- but sometimes you have to make due with what you've got. Your shot is very nice. Thanks for the comments hellashot

I've long wanted to take shots of this marsh at during the four different seasons. I think it would make a good project.
