Formula One testing @ Silverstone, 18-07-2013 :)

Booked the day off work, paid £15 and ventured up to Silverstone for the F1 Young driver / tyre test. Those who know me know I'm not a fan of the circuit and it's photographic offering. However maybe the sun got to me a bit as I didn't actually think it was that bad Was also nice to shoot for fun, very relaxed stuff. Forget how challenging shooting though fences can be. Anyway here's a few shots:

Great photos. How hot was it?

I actually booked a plane ticket and hotel and attended this test over the 3 days. It was incredibly hot. over 30 degrees on all 3 days and ironically, the last time I experienced such weather in the UK was at the 2006 British GP. Friday was packed too! I've seen less people at Grand Prix weekends!

Nice shots by the way! Can't really pick out a favourite!

Care to share where they were taken from? My only disappointment was that only 1/3rd of the track was opened for us. I'd love to know where you shot the Turvey / Frijns shots (for next time)?

Anyway... Love Silverstone. Just a shame I live 3,000km away.

Rather. For us pasty English peeps it was roasting. But took a couple of hours to chill out in the shaded grandstand. No probs

Cool. That's a good effort you have gone too. It's not often I see "Anyway... Love Silverstone" on a photography forum

Yes only small part of circuit open. The shots you mention were from slow corner coming onto Wellington Straight. It looks like I was possibly a bit lucky to get to that part of the circuit

Those are some amazing action photos. I really like #1 and #3.

Haha it must have been the same clueless G4S guy that mistakenly let me in to the infield on Wednesday!

Unfortunately I had no idea of how lucky I was until another security guy came to apologise and ask me to go to the outfield.
