I may have a chance to pick up a used " like new" Sigma 70 mm 2.8 macro for under $200.
I have a T4i with the 18-135 STM lens. Would this be a good first macro lens?
Thanks for any and all replies.

Everyone here seems to like it quite a bit. I just thought this Sigma might be a way to get started for a little le$$! Its uber sharp and would be perfect for what you are wanting to do. I would encourage you to save up and get the best tool for the job. Gear: 5D MK2, 24-70 2.8 2.8 L, 50 1.4, 70-200 2.8 L
