Last Monday I took some shots of this Band. Small venue which was packed tight with people. The only usable lens was my 50mm 1.8.

At one point I had to lie in front of the crowd and shot between the monitors. I was concious of my shutter noise too as it was quite an intimate and quiet gig.

My website has my most recent work - macro photography (external link), live music photography (external link) and am working on a book focusing on Brisbane live music (external link) as my way of giving back.
I also have some photography tips (external link) for those with new cameras.

is that a Daniel Johnston autograph on Norman's guitar?

yeah looks like you could have used a wider lens to get more into the frame. the light's not doing many favors either, but you did OK given all that. I like the pints in the background of Norman...gives the flavor of the gig.

It is indeed. I don't know the history behind it though. I'll ask him next time he is over in Scotland again.

I have a gig tomorrow with a borrowed sigma 10-20mm f3.5 lens, not great but the lighting might let me shoot at low aperture ( I hope or it's back to the 50mm :) )

Thanks for comments :)

I feel like these are nice, but they are a little to tight on the crops?
