I'm planning a 10 day motorcycle trip and plan to take my 60D and equipment. My bag will be strapped to the rack on my rear fender. Lately, I've been thinking about the vibration concern and if I should be concerned about harming the camera, lens or other equipment.

Anyone think it'll be a problem? If so, what suggestions would you have?

Thanks

Vibration is never good for any electronics. The problem is measuring how much harm it will or will not do.it could be negligible to nothing.

Go to a UPS Store and buy a yard of the large section bubble wrap; that's the stuff with one inch squares, not the smaller pockets. Keep the camera and lenses loosely wrapped in that while travelling.

I used to do a lot of motorcycling touring but never on a cruiser style bike. I could never get my head around cruisers. My last two bikes were a Moto Guzzi LeMans MkV (very hard suspension) and a Triumph Sprint RS 955i.

I'd do the annual trip (nine in total, seven on the Guzzi)) down to Phillip Island for the World Superbikes and three or four weekends away with the 'boys'.

I hauled my camera around in a tank bag along with other stuff I needed easy access to like mobile phone and wet weather gear. I never had any problems with my cameras due to vibration.

The nice thing about a tank bag is, if you can see it, it's difficult to lose.

It's because you're supposed to put your legs around them, not your head.

Unfortunately, I already have my iPhone, being used as navigation, on a mount attached to my tank. I may do the bubble wrap suggestion or consider a Cotton Carrier and leave it on me.

The tank bags I've owned have a clear plastic section (weather proof) on the top for maps etc. I know guys who've put sat navs in there, so your iPhone will work also.
