canon sx 40 manual focus

im about to use a raynox 250 for insects and have noticed when I use manual focus I cant get the mf point zoom to work ,whwn I go to menu it isn't highlighted so I cant switch it on,any ideas ?


canon 550d,canon 100-400,sigma 10-20

I haven't still got my SX40 manual but I believe MF point-zoom is disabled with certain modes and/or menu settings. E.g. in the SX50 it won't work when AF tracking is in effect or when in AUTO mode. Probably your SX40 is much the same.
